I just discovered a huge scar on my calf. Not huge in the "Holy shit that covers your whole leg," huge, but a "Why is there a scar going from ankle to knee that I have no memory of getting?" And it's not even the scar with all the scratches and scabs from being hit by a car years ago. Where did this come from? How long have I had it? WHAT THE HELL?! |

Barry Bonds' 756th home run ball is going to be stamped with an asterisk and then given to the Hall of Fame. I'm so disgusted right now. Yes, Barry is an ass. But he was a damn good ball player for years before any of the possible-stereroids mess started and he still knows the game better than most players out there. He also brought in thousands of fans, whether to SF stands or to stands around the country because people want to see him hit or heckle him. Do you really have to disgrace the ball that broke a record no one even came CLOSE to reaching since Hank Aaron retired after 755 in 1976? And let's not even go into the fact that it was probably all Dodgers fans who went in and voted to put the asterisk on it. EDIT: Ok, so it wasn't just Dodgers fans. But I still don't like them. |

I remember thinking, "Hey, if the dog can get his head in and out, I can too!" and then finding myself stuck and screaming. 2. what's the best thing anyone's ever done for you? Held me as I cried for someone, no questions asked, just sharing it. 3. where is the most beautiful place you've ever been? Captiva Island. White sands, clear blue ocean, and beautiful wooden buildings. 4. what's your favorite colour? I can never choose! Probably maroon or dark purple. 5. what inspires you? The idea that no matter how insignificant or small blip in time my life is, I can impact someone in some small way, and that chain will continue with their effect on others, hopefully in a positive way. |

Today's upsetting/unsettling/stupid moment: Standing in Lit & Philosophy class, utterly convinced that today is Friday and I get to spend the whole weekend catching up on sleep and reading, only to realize moments later that it is only 1:00 on Monday afternoon. I think I lose track of what days are weekends if I don't have rehearsal Saturday mornings. |

Two surprises, one day!
This morning, I arrived at school at 7:10 and had nothing to do in my car. So I'm gazing calmly out the window and what do I see?  A skunk, running along Inverness. I watch it cross the street, avoiding being hit by crazy parents with their kids in the street. Then I watched with all of the uncaffeinated glee I could muster, hoping as it darted across lawns that it would spray someone and get them stinky. Alas, that did not happen. Then, when I arrived to work, who did I receive an e-mail from but this little lady here:  Except not really, because that isn't my grandma. But it's the same idea: My 83 year old grandmother is using the internet to update us all about church and life in Cleveland, including telling us that my cousin is moving back here next week. Which means it's good that I'm on the e-mail list, otherwise she'd show up at my door expecting to sleep here and I would have no fucking clue why she wasn't on another continent. Scary that 83 year old impressionable grandmum is on the internet? Just a little. The end. |
